He is signed to WWE and also appears in it's sister promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where he is a one-time AAA Mega Champion. Mysterio is also a two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and two-time NXT North American Champion. He is the first wrestler to hold championships in WWE and AAA simultaneously. Gutiérrez is a third-generation professional wrestler, after his father Rey Mysterio and great-uncle Rey Misterio Sr. He has been around wrestling for the majority of his life, thanks to attending WWE events as a child to see his father. He had his first direct involvement when he was 8 years old in 2005, which was a storyline in which his father battled Eddie Guerrero over his legal custody. Dominik began his wrestling training in 2017 and made his in-ring debut at the 2020 SummerSlam in a street fight against Seth Rollins. He later formed a tag team with his father and won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, making them the first parent-child team to win a championship in WWE. At the 2022 Clash at the Castle, Dominik famously turned on his father and Edge, aligning himself with The Judgement Day and earning the moniker "Dirty Dom".
