Her only acting experience was some drama classes in college, but she began looking for work in commercials and as TV show extras such as Law & Order and Blue Bloods. She was spotted by Joss Whedon as an extra in The Avengers, and offered a leading role in Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing".
