He released almost 200 original works by Brazilian authors and introduced Luigi Pirandello, Eugene O'Neill and Arthur Miller to the national stage. His most notable work was in Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, staged in 1951, where he played Willy Loman, the protagonist. He also acted in film and television.
