Glen Payne

Born in Texas, he began his career in 1944 with the Stamps-Baxter Quartet and in 1964 formed the Cathedral Quartet with George Younce. The group became a Southern Gospel staple, known for hits like "Step into The Water", "Boundless Love" and "He Made a Change". Payne died of liver cancer at 72 during the quartet’s farewell tour, leaving a significant legacy in the genre.
