Born in 1973 in Harare, Zimbabwe, Barlow received a Diploma in Dramatic Art which she studied for from 1995-1997. She has had supporting roles in movies like Last Rites of Passage and Cape of Good Hope, and lead roles in the 2004 film Roxi and the 2005 Gray Hofmeyr movie Mama Jack, with Leon Schuster.
