In the heart of the 17th century, Friar Leopoldo da Casamacchia recounts the Gospel with a joy and freedom never seen before. While the Church speaks in Latin, he speaks to the people of a God who is close to them, capable of bringing comfort, hope, and even of laughing alongside them. His voice spreads from village to village, winning over thousands of people and emptying the churches.
