Taeko, a widow, runs a hot spring inn on her own and raises her daughter, Shigemi. Genjiro, a tough chef, and Miki, a former delinquent, work at the inn. The two have had a long-standing physical relationship. One day, Okada, the managing director of a trading company, arrives at the inn. The night before, Taeko got drunk and had sex with him.
